Back for Another Charter Fishing Season!

We would like to thank all of you who fished aboard the Drifter with
us last season and welcome aboard those of you who didn't get the chance. We invite you along to share some of the best fishing available on the east coast. Rhode Island, from Pt. Judith to Block Island, provides some of the best offshore fishing to be found anywhere.  Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned angler, we can provide you with the safety and satisfaction you deserve, when spending a day with a professional charter boat captain.  All bait and tackle are provided.
The
Drifter is a 37' custom built sport fisherman designed and built for your safety and comfort. She is powered with a 460 HP turbo charged caterpillar diesel and is fully equipped with all the latest in electronic equipment. She is also equipped with dual fighting chairs, Lee's Giant Tuna fighting chair, Lee's outriggers, Tuna Tower, Pulpit, Large fish well, and has a 220 gallon fuel capacity.  At cruising speeds of 15-16 knots, the Drifter can provide you with a fast, comfortable ride to our inshore and off-shore fishing grounds.

Winter/Spring Cod Fishing Trips

To start things off, like every year, cod fishing is first on the menu. With the increase of regulations on the commercial fleet and the limit of days they are able to fish, this spring looks to be even better than the last. A 23 inch size limit still exists on the fish and the increasing numbers of market sized fish that have filtered onto the inshore grounds these last few years, should keep our anglers busy for the first couple of months of the season. We provide trips around Block Island and Cox's ledge, but some of the offshore wrecks can be reached on a daily outing.

Block Island Day and Afternoon Bass Charters

Moving on as May reaches the half way point, for most of you, this could only mean one thing, yes you guessed right. (Striped Bass fishing will come into full swing.) With last season's numbers, and no change in regulations foreseen, we can expect another banner year with daily bag limits taken and lots of big fish. Afternoon trips will still be offered and for those who have a trophy fish on light tackle in mind, drift fishing with live bait can be arranged. Date's available for this will be limited.

Offshore Deep Sea Fishing

As the ocean waters start to warm and summer fishing starts to take on a different meaning, the attention for lots of our anglers is drawn off-shore. Tuna, Sharks and Bonita can all be caught on an offshore outing. Remember anglers, the timing and amount of baitfish on the offshore grounds is an important factor in determining your amount of success. There are certain restrictions on some species so please ask the captain to explain and to let you know about choice dates and times in which these fish are available.

Fall Fishing, Don't Miss this One!

With the shortening of daylight and the feel of colder air filtering in we bring our attention back inshore. Bass, Blues, Bonita, and Blackfish start to invade the coastline again. Those of you who haven't started to think about hunting yet, or even if you have, this is the perfect time for you to enjoy possibly some of the best fishing for the remainder of the season. As the bait starts to migrate south, so don't the predators that follow it. It is not uncommon to see schools of Bass and Blues chasing bait as far as the eye can see. And for the light tackle enthusiasts, blackfishing on the local rock piles can challenge the best of our anglers. With good numbers in stocks, daily limits are caught with sizes up to 15 lbs with most fish averaging 5-10 lbs.
